OK, I almost put the rest of the Saint-Nectaire in an mushroom omelette this evening, but didn't. Instead, I think it is worth mentioning that one of the best things about Orange County (which is not many things, quite frankly) is the ready availability of Persian cucumbers. They are small, super-crunchy, and have a very fresh cucumber-y taste. Why didn't I ever see these in other places I have lived? I feel they meet all of my cucumber needs, and are more likely to be yummy and fresh than English cucumbers are in CA supermarkets.
